IMDb's highest-rated films
The 100 best-rated films by IMDb users, from The Shawshank Redemption to the classics.
100 of 100 films in Cinespective.
Log in to start this list →Curation Concept
The 100 films that IMDb's audience rates highest, from modern favourites to old classics. Films that only a few people have rated are left out, so a small group of fans cannot push a film to the top.
It is a list of what viewers love, which is not always what critics or historians would choose. It follows IMDb's ratings closely but is our own version, so it can differ a little from IMDb's official chart.
The idea in one sentence
Watch what millions of viewers rate highest.
Curation The arc
There is no story to follow: the order is the rating. Blockbusters and dramas sit next to silent comedies and Japanese classics, which shows how popular taste and film history overlap.
Only some of these films have a Cinespective guide for now. The others show their rank and rating, and a guide is added as the library grows.
