Fritz Lang

Fritz Lang (1890–1976) was an Austrian-German director who shaped German Expressionist cinema and later worked in Hollywood. He is best known for the silent sci-fi epic Metropolis and the thriller M. His dark, fatalistic crime films in the US helped define film noir.
