Barbara Bel Geddes (1922–2005) was an American actress of stage, film and television. She originated Maggie in Broadway's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and played Midge in Hitchcock's Vertigo. She became widely known to TV audiences as Miss Ellie Ewing on Dallas.
