Grigori Aleksandrov (1903–1983) was a Soviet director who began as Sergei Eisenstein's close collaborator, working as assistant, co-director and actor. In the 1930s he pioneered the Soviet musical comedy, often starring his wife Lyubov Orlova, and became one of Stalin-era cinema's most popular entertainers.
