Composer

Edmund Meisel

Edmund Meisel (1894–1930) was an Austrian-born composer who worked in Berlin and wrote original scores for silent films. He is best remembered for his driving, percussive music for Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin and for Ruttmann's Berlin. His early death in 1930 cut short a promising career at the end of the silent era.
