Chieko Higashiyama

Chieko Higashiyama (1890–1980) was a Japanese actress who began her career late, entering acting in 1925 at age 35. She trained at the Tsukiji Little Theatre and became a notable stage performer. She is best remembered for Yasujirō Ozu's Tokyo Story, widely ranked among the greatest films ever made.
