What happens
Eve wins the award, but Addison, who has exposed her invented past, makes clear she now belongs to him. Back in her room, a young fan named Phoebe admires her exactly as Eve once admired Margo.
The last image
Phoebe, the young fan in Eve's room, admires Eve with the same devotion Eve once showed Margo, and the cycle begins again.
What it says
Eve's triumph is no victory, since she is trapped by Addison and about to be shadowed by her own Eve. Ambition feeds on admiration, and the ending suggests the pattern never stops.
