Mike van Diem is a Dutch film director and screenwriter, born in 1959. He is best known for his feature debut Character (1997), an adaptation of a Dutch novel that won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He has since made a small number of features, including The Surprise and Tulipani.
