Luc Dardenne is a Belgian filmmaker who writes, produces and directs films with his older brother Jean-Pierre. Their socially engaged, naturalistic dramas about people on society's margins made them central figures in contemporary European art cinema. They are among the few directors to win the Palme d'Or twice.
