Charles Strouse (1928–2025) was an American composer from New York City, best known for Broadway musicals such as Bye Bye Birdie, Applause and Annie. He studied with Aaron Copland and Nadia Boulanger, often wrote with lyricist Lee Adams, and also scored films including Bonnie and Clyde.
