Meredith Willson (1902–1984) was an American composer, songwriter, flutist and bandleader from Iowa. He scored Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator and The Little Foxes, but is best remembered for writing the book, music and lyrics of the stage musical The Music Man, which became a 1962 film.
