Kazuo Hasegawa (1908–1984) was a Kyoto-born, kabuki-trained actor who became one of Japan's biggest period-drama stars. He debuted in films in 1927 and appeared in over 300 of them. He worked with directors such as Teinosuke Kinugasa and Kenji Mizoguchi, and he remained a leading screen presence into the 1960s.
