A small girl is collected from her ordinary afternoon by an adult stranger who claims to be her descendant. What follows is a seventeen-minute trip through a future that is funny, bleak and strangely tender, drawn almost entirely with stick figures.
Why it matters in cinema history
A defining twenty-first-century example of the personal, auteur-driven animated short, proving that digital tools could extend a handmade style rather than replace it.
Watch with intention
Watch how comedy and dread share the same flat, matter-of-fact tone, and how quickly one turns into the other.
