An orphaned boy raised by wolves in the Indian jungle must be led to the human village before a ferocious tiger finds him. His guide is a stern panther, his companion a carefree bear, and the journey turns into a loose string of encounters, songs and jokes.
Why it matters in cinema history
A key late work of the classic hand-drawn Disney tradition, it shows the studio shifting from storybook romance toward comic, voice-driven ensemble animation that shaped its next two decades.
Watch with intention
Watch it as a film built from personalities: each character is defined by a voice, a way of moving and a musical style.
