Drama
Danish (Jagten)
2012 · Directed by Thomas Vinterberg · 116 min
In a small Danish town, a recently divorced kindergarten worker is rebuilding his life. He has a close circle of friends, a new relationship and a hope of spending more time with his teenage son, until one remark from a child begins to change how everyone sees him.
Why it matters in cinema history
A key Danish film of the 2010s, it shows how the post-Dogme generation could keep a direct, human-scale style while working in more conventional, polished drama.
Watch with intention
Watch the town as a character: its rituals, touches and glances, and what quietly holds each friendship in place.
