Benjamin Braddock comes home from college with top marks, a bright future on paper and no idea what he wants. At a family party full of well-meaning advice, an invitation pulls him into a summer that nobody planned. A dry, awkward comedy about drifting.
Why it matters in cinema history
A pivotal bridge between the polished studio comedy and the restless, youth-centred American cinema of the late 1960s and 1970s, absorbing European influence along the way.
