Five college friends head off for a weekend at a remote lakeside cabin. The setup is one every horror fan knows, played with affection, sharp humour and a steady build of dread. Go in with an open mind and as little advance knowledge as possible.
Why it matters in cinema history
A defining film of the knowing, genre-literate horror that followed Scream, and a key title in the 2010s revival of horror as popular and critical territory.
