Documentary
Romanian (Omul Pasăre)
2014 · Directed by Alexandru Mavrodineanu · 76 min
A Romanian documentary portrait of an elderly aviator who refuses to leave the sky. Quiet and observational, it follows one man's stubborn effort to keep flying while age closes in.
Why it matters in cinema history
A modest but characteristic example of twenty-first-century observational documentary from Romania, where the portrait of a single person carries a wider reflection on time and endurance.
Watch with intention
Watch it as a portrait of a man measuring himself against time, not as a story about an aviation record.
