A young princess, forced into servitude by her vain stepmother, finds an unlikely refuge in a forest cottage shared by seven miners. A fairy tale told through song, slapstick and fear, and made as the first American animated feature.
Why it matters in cinema history
A founding film of the feature-length animation industry and of the Disney studio as a feature producer. It turned a form tied to short comedy into a mainstream, commercially viable narrative cinema.
Watch with intention
