Bob is a burnt-out former radical who lives in stoned, watchful obscurity with his sharp-minded teenage daughter, Willa. When figures from his revolutionary past close in after sixteen years, he has to act. A large-scale chase thriller played as paranoid comedy.
Why it matters in cinema history
A major American studio film of the mid-2020s, it continues the tradition of the paranoid, politically minded 1970s thriller and revives the cinema of large-format film and author-driven spectacle.
Watch with intention
Watch it as a comedy of exhaustion and fear, where chase-movie momentum keeps colliding with very human incompetence.
