A billionaire has built a theme park whose attractions are living dinosaurs, and he invites a small group of specialists to endorse it before opening. The film mixes wonder with a creeping sense that nature and technology may not obey the plan.
Why it matters in cinema history
A defining film of the 1990s blockbuster era and of the shift from practical to digital effects. It also marks the point where Spielberg's adventure showmanship and his eye for suspense meet fully.
