A father who has never styled his daughter's hair faces a morning with a big occasion ahead, a tablet full of instructions and a head of curls with its own ideas. A short, nearly wordless comedy about care, patience and a very stubborn hairstyle.
Why it matters in cinema history
A landmark of 2010s short animation, it shows how a crowdfunded film made outside the big studios could reach a worldwide audience and win Hollywood's top animation short prize.
Watch with intention
Watch it as pantomime: every feeling is carried by faces, hands and timing rather than speech.
