In a strict Presbyterian community on the Scottish coast in the early 1970s, a young, fragile and devout woman marries an outsider who works on the oil rigs. When his work takes him away, her love and her faith are tested in ways the village cannot accept. The tone is raw, intimate and emotionally demanding.
