A middle-aged Chinese-Canadian woman goes through her days in a quiet Toronto home, with dumpling-making at the centre of her routine. Almost without dialogue, this eight-minute Pixar short builds its comedy and warmth out of food, hands and faces.
Why it matters in cinema history
A landmark of recent Pixar shorts: an Oscar-winning, personal, culturally specific work that signalled a wider range of voices and stories at the studio.
