Three roommates at a demanding engineering college form a friendship that reshapes how each of them thinks about success. Years later, two of them set out to find the third. A broad comedy with songs, and an argument about how people should be taught.
Why it matters in cinema history
A defining film of the post-2000 Hindi mainstream, it showed that a star-led, song-filled entertainer could address educational pressure and become a national conversation, and it travelled well beyond India.
Watch with intention
Watch how comedy is used as an argument: each joke and song is also a claim about how people learn.
